Questions about this part

What does a Z/X pipe do?

It connects the two banks of a V-engine or the two sides of an inline system through a crossover, balancing exhaust pulses. On turbo cars it is usually fitted with a downpipe or cat-back change.

Is this a direct fit for my BMW?

It fits the chassis listed above when the joining pipe is 2.5 in. Because it is a universal section, the installer may need to trim or adjust the length.

What is the wall thickness?

1.5 mm stainless steel. Thinner walls are lighter but distort more easily at weld joints; 1.5 mm is a practical compromise for road use.

Does it come with clamps or gaskets?

No. The pipe is supplied on its own. Add clamps separately if you are not welding.

Why this one

Dimensions per variant, priced per variant

Fabrication buyers compare numbers, not adjectives. Each size carries its own price and its own row, so a quote does not need a follow-up email.

Stainless steel and how to weld it

The grade decides filler, purge and heat input. Getting that wrong is how a good part becomes a failed joint, so the weld notes are on the page.

Stock counts and real dimensions

We publish what is actually in stock and what each option measures, so a quote does not depend on an email reply.

Before you order

Questions worth answering first.

How do I weld stainless steel?

Titanium needs full argon purge inside and out with dedicated tooling. Inconel takes nickel filler and a slower puddle. 304 welds with 308L and no purge. The grade is in the spec table above.

Can I return cut material?

No. Uncut and in original packaging, yes. Cutting is irreversible, so confirm the size first.

How do I confirm fitment?

Send your vehicle year, engine and a photo of the mounting area. We will confirm the fitment boundary before you order.

Is professional installation recommended?

Yes. These parts are built for performance exhaust work and should be installed by a qualified technician.

Build with confidence.

Confirm the size, fitment boundary and options before ordering. Professional installation is recommended for fabrication parts.
